Groundswell of individual support powers campaign as St. Louisans seek more effective and ethical leadership.
St. Louis, Mo. (Jan. 16, 2018) – Mark Mantovani continued to gain unprecedented support in his race for St. Louis County Executive by topping the $1.25 million dollar mark last quarter and positioning his campaign as the only viable one with a realistic chance to unseat the current St. Louis County Executive and win the Democratic nomination later this year.
Thanks to the support of hundreds of St. Louisans across the region who are seeking new leadership, Mantovani’s campaign is reporting total contributions, since he began his campaign in late June last year, of $1.29 million. The campaign raised $401,923 during the fourth quarter fundraising period from October 1 – December 31 and it reports it has over $900,000 cash on hand. More than 350 individuals have joined in this effort.
“I’m humbled by the number of supporters who have stepped up to power this campaign,” said Mantovani. “All across the region, people are telling me they’re looking for a new leader who will bring positive change to the region. With their help, and this strong momentum, I’m excited to continue sharing our bold, innovate and ethical approach to governing and ensuring that great things lie ahead for our region.”
“We are on track to fully fund our campaign and have the resources to compete and win the nomination with our positive message that St. Louis County needs leadership for a change,” said Mantovani for STL Communications Director, Kris Brill. “The contrast could not be greater as current County Executive Steve Stenger has a scandal-filled record complete with political payoffs to his friends, as well as a toxic and broken relationship with the County Council that has brought our County’s government to a standstill.”
The Democratic Primary for St. Louis County Executive will be held on August 7, 2018.
